What is Femininity?

In 2019, when God gave me the word to “reinstate femininity”, I had no clue where to start. I didn’t even really know what femininity meant, and who was getting the reinstatement? I’m still learning what femininity is, but so far, here are my findings!

  1. Femininity is heart-centered

While masculine energy starts in the head, feminine energy moves from the heart. Women are experts at switching from masculine to feminine energy (it’s because of all the estrogen in our bodies)! When we are working, we are in our head space, moving forward, getting things done, and moving fast… there’s no space for feeling. When we get home, however, it’s important to move into your heart space. Lean back and feel those feelings! Coming from the heart means that we address our logical thoughts with feelings, and those feelings make us act. For example “The dishes need to be done. I feel like I can’t relax until they’re done, so I’m going to do the dishes.” The key word is feel.

     2.  Femininity is slow

When a woman is completely in their feminine energy, she moves in zig-zags. Both in words and in actions. A woman is zig-zag with her words, because she can skip from conversation topic to conversation topic with other women, and there’s no problem. Two ladies can be talking about one thing, and then 10 topics later, they can hop back to the first subject without skipping a beat. A woman is zig-zap with her actions, because if you were to follow a woman in her feminine energy who was about to leave the house, you’d never know she was trying to leave because she might need to fix the pillows on the couch, grab some snacks for the road, dust the windowsill, and take out the trash before she heads out. She moves at her own pace, and she works on multiple things at a time. Not only that, but a woman’s body changes when she is in her feminine energy! Her hips sway more when she walks, as opposed to when she’s in her masculine energy where her hips stay still and she makes a beeline to the place she needs to be. I could go on and on about this! So fascinating.

     3.  Femininity is subjective

This is one that took me a long time to figure out. When I first started studying femininity, I thought there would be a secret formula to how a woman should act that will make her the most feminine. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Every person is different and there is no secret formula! There are things to remember that will help you stay feminine, but there’s no special thing to say in certain situations. I got really caught up on this one, because I was studying femininity from so many different women, that I didn’t know what was right! I felt so confused, but I learned that I can take what they’re saying and make it my own, and that’s the most beautiful part.
