Quarantine Things

While in quarantine, it’s really forced me to re-evaluate my day and my schedule. From spending less time on my phone, to taking my workout routine to the next level, I’ve made some minor (yet they still feel huge!) changes to my daily routine!

  1. Waking up earlier

When I know the only thing I will be doing during the day is sticking around home, it relieves this pressure of having to keep my energy consistent throughout the day. Because of that, I feel free to wake up early and enjoy my quiet time before my family wakes up. I have very little siblings, and brothers who are Zooming their teachers all day, so my moments of silence and alone time are precious to me.

  1. Disconnecting

I feel like this quarantine has been a God-send. I’m usually so busy all day and rarely get a moment to enjoy my family. Literally being told by the government to stay home has given me the chance to spend real quality time with my parents and siblings! I’ve been leaving my phone in my room, and not wearing my Apple Watch (so I don’t get notifications) and I feel so much more present.

  1. Working out

Everyone in quarantine knows this tugging feeling of relaxing and coming out ready to start their life refreshed and motivated, and working hard and exercising, getting ready for that summer bod. It’s a total mix and both are really beneficial for your health! I’ve been working out more than I would have been able to if I was able to work. I haven’t run a mile since I was 14 years old, and now that I have the time, I’ve been running at least a mile every day! Also, I’ve been doing some intense cross training and going back to my ballet roots and giving myself a barre.

  1. Journaling

This is a great time to reflect and devote more time to reading the Bible. I’ve been journaling more, with random thoughts throughout the day, bible verses that speak to me, and notes of gratitude. Something I love to do, since I have all this time, is decorate my journal entries! I’ll glue little buttons on the page, add magazine clippings, or even pressed flowers. It makes for a fun craft and is a great little escape.
